This basic course will enable students to build solid foundations to specialize in particular topics such as Vulnerability Assessment, Penetration Test. It will take place in a creative environment, with references to the "Old School" underground culture typical of hacking, in which a Learn-by-Doing course will be followed. The theory will be accompanied by a substantial part of practical Hacking sessions in Linux environment, with the aim of speeding up and facilitating the learning of more complex topics. For those who wish it is also offered the opportunity to take the exam for the international certification EXIN Information Security Foundation.
MODULE 1 - BASIC FOUNDATION
The aim of this module is to transfer to the participants basic technical knowledge in the field of programming and scripting, networks, UNIX type systems to allow the student to have a basic transversal know-how, necessary to face parts of the most thorough training path. The main security groups, the possible work areas and the most important international competitions to which one can become a member will also be introduced, in order to be able to continue their personal development path in this area. This module provides also basic technical skills in the field of Cyber Security, in order to prepare the student with the appropriate technological tools for the Module 2 and for an eventual future specialized training in Ethical Hacking.
MODULE 2 - SPECIFIC TOPICS
The aim of this module is to introduce the students to the world of Cyber Security, to explore with the participants the main techniques of cyber attacks and the related countermeasures, to learn the basics of cryptography contextualized in the field of information security, to become familiar with the main software tools of Vulnerability Assessment, Penetration Test, Exploit Development and learning methods and standards of Ethical Hacking normally applied in the job market. Each activity will follow the Learn-by-Doing approach through practical sessions.
At the end of the course you will have a knowledge that allows you to further develop the information for operating in the field of Ethical Hacking and IT Security. You will enter the world of Cyber Security, being able to investigate the main cyber attacks, gaining practical experience that will allows you to independently use the main software for attack and security verification, as well as acquiring the basics of intrusion techniques and Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Test methods, up to understanding which specific measures can be adopted to guarantee an adequate level of system security.
